Relief groups and officials sounded the alarm over the fate of thousands of people made homeless by sectarian fighting in poverty-stricken areas of the north Lebanese port city.

An Israeli army commander confessed to ordering a soldier to shoot a blindfolded and handcuffed Palestinian with a rubber-coated bullet, Israeli television news channel 10 reported.
The officer, named as Lieutenant Colonel Omri, told investigators: "I said jokingly to the soldier 'come on, shoot him with a rubber-coated bullet'," the private station said, citing a military report into the incident. |

 Four Jordanian prisoners released by Israel last year to complete their life sentence in the kingdom will be freed next month, a leading Islamist MP said.
The prisoners were sentenced to life in jail in Israel for killing two Israeli soldiers in November 1990, four years before the two neighbouring states signed a peace treaty. |

A few things are quite obvious, which I think the world is ignoring! Based upon the history of Israeli-Palestinian relations over the past sixty years, it is apparent that Israel is not interested in Peace or sharing anything with Palestine or Palestinians. Their goal and they will settle for nothing less, than total victory and domination over Palestine and Palestinians. Talk of Peace is a ploy and meaningless. |
